1.) The Facebook Files: there’s been so much controversy with this company these last few years the first question to ask of the leaked FB docs to the WSJ is..how bad is it? Answer: pretty bad. This is a massive platform of unprecedented scale. Maintaining it will be the challenge of our generation
2.) Mailchimp Closed Won: Intuit is buying Mailchimp for $12B. A former ad agency turned SaaS company they were bootstrapped the whole way thru for 20+ yrs. Employees didn’t have equity but there should be retention & restricted stock to come. We hope
3.) Future is Canva: Aussie design startup Canva raised $200M @ $40B valuation. Co-Founder & CEO Melanie Perkins is the driver of this wagon on track for $1B in revenue by EOY and plans to donate 30% of her equity to the Canva Foundation. The future is Melanie and Canva!
4.) SpaceX Inspires: Four regular people entered space as astronauts for a SpaceX sponsored journey that includes 3 days in orbit where they’ll be circling the Earth every 90 minutes. What a time to be alive, right??
